Ryokan refers to a Japanese style inn where you sit on “tatami” mats, and where you wear “yukata”, a Japanese style nightgown and sleep in a “futon” bed. You usually eat delicious Japanese food, too.
They have been very popular among tourists from overseas who have great interest in Japanese traditional culture and, in fact, are highly appreciated.

Explore Kanazawa and beyond…
We are pleased to announce a cultural tour to introduce traditional Japanese inns for foreign residents in Japan. On the first day the participants will stay overnight at a ryokan in Kanazawa after taking an afternoon tour with a national licensed English-speaking guide to learn the hidden charms of the castle town.
On the following day the participants and some Ryokan staffs will get on a chartered bus and head to Fukui to visit some tourist attractions with the guide ahead of the extension of the Hokuriku Shinkansen bullet train to Tsuruga, Fukui Pref. in 2024.
We’d like to offer the tour above for free to those who can post about the Ryokan on the social media.
このたび私たちは、日本に住む外国人の方を対象としたモニターツアーを開催することとなりました。ツアーでは、歴史的な名所が多く残る城下町金沢をプロのガイドと一緒に歩き、その魅力を学んだ後、旅館に宿泊します。
2日目は貸切バスで福井に向かい、2024年の北陸新幹線開業を前に、一足早くその見どころを巡ります。

Conditions for perticipants
- Foreign nationals living in Japan and their companion.
Foreign nationals need to own their resident card. - Basically application is limited to 2 persons per group.
- To be able to post about this ryokan tour in social medias.
- Willing to fill out some questionnaires after the tour.
- Must be vaccinated at least three times or have a negative proof of antigen test.

If there are too many applicants, the organizer (Kanazawa Ryokan & Hotel Cooperative Association) will decide who will participate. Participation will be announced after the application period ends, which is scheduled to be around June 27.

otoyu Ishiya（深谷温泉 元湯石屋）
A traditional hot-spring ryokan founded more than 200 years ago, Motoyu Ishiya owns a private Noh stage, a jizo statue and a small shrine.

9:00 a.m. Check-out of the Ryokan. Move to Kanazawa station.
チェックアウト。
9:30 a.m. Private bus tour to Fukui with some ryokan staffs and a professional guide.

Visit Eiheiji-temple and some tourists spots in Fukui Pref. (Lunch included)
